South African Airways (IATA code: SA) is the flag carrier of South Africa, based at OR Tambo International in Johannesburg. It entered business rescue in 2019 and relaunched in 2021 with a substantially smaller network.
It no longer flies to the United States. Our agents route US travelers via a European or Gulf carrier into Johannesburg or Cape Town, then use SAA for regional African connections. It remains a Star Alliance member.
