About Norwegian
Norwegian (IATA code: DY) is the largest low-cost carrier in the Nordic region, based near Oslo. It reshaped European budget flying in the 2010s and briefly operated low-cost transatlantic routes.
It exited long-haul entirely during its 2021 restructuring and now flies short and medium-haul routes only, concentrated on Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland and continental Europe.
That matters for US travelers: Norwegian no longer flies to the United States. It is still the cheapest way to move around Scandinavia once you are there, and our agents pair it with a transatlantic carrier on a single itinerary where the schedule allows.
Norwegian Baggage Policy
Carry-On Baggage
- One small personal item is included on the lowest fares.
- A full-size cabin bag requires a higher fare or a paid add-on.
- Maximum cabin bag dimensions: 55 x 40 x 23 cm, up to 10 kg.
Checked Baggage
- Checked bags are chargeable on the lowest fares and included on higher fare families.
- Maximum size per checked bag: 250 cm total.
- Maximum weight: 20 kg or 23 kg depending on fare.
- Buy bags at booking; airport prices are considerably higher.

Yes — it is generally the cheapest way to move between Norwegian, Swedish and Danish cities, with a dense domestic network in Norway in particular.
A seat and a small personal item. A full-size cabin bag, checked baggage and seat selection all cost extra.
Not on a single ticket in most cases, since Norwegian does not interline widely. Our agents will build the itinerary so the connection has enough buffer, and explain the risk clearly.
The lowest fares include only a personal item. Cabin and checked bags are add-ons, cheapest when bought at booking.
