About All Nippon Airways

All Nippon Airways (IATA code: NH), usually just ANA, is the largest airline in Japan and one of a small number of carriers to hold a five-star Skytrax rating. It operates from both Tokyo airports: Haneda, close to the city, and Narita, further out.

ANA was the launch customer for the Boeing 787 and remains its largest operator. From the United States it serves New York, Washington, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, San Francisco, San Jose and Seattle, with onward connections across Asia from Tokyo.

It is a Star Alliance member and partners with United across the Pacific. For US travelers, the choice between Haneda and Narita matters more than the airline: Haneda is roughly 40 minutes closer to central Tokyo. Our agents price both and tell you what the difference is worth.

All Nippon Airways — Frequently Asked Questions

  • Search above to compare ANA fares, or call our specialists 24/7. Our agents can compare Economy, Premium Economy, Business and First and access consolidator inventory on many transpacific routes.

  • Haneda is roughly 40 minutes closer to central Tokyo and generally the better choice if Tokyo is your destination. Narita has more onward connections and is sometimes cheaper. We price both.

  • Transpacific Economy fares typically include two checked bags at 23 kg each, which is more generous than most transatlantic tickets. Call us to confirm for your specific fare.

  • Yes. Both are Star Alliance members in a transpacific joint venture, so a US domestic connection onto an ANA long-haul can be ticketed as one itinerary.

  • Cherry blossom season in late March and April, and autumn foliage in November, are the most popular and the most expensive. Late spring and winter outside the New Year period carry the lowest fares.

  • Yes, particularly in Business class. Call us for a free comparison against the published fare.
